Deputy Clerk-Treasurer
The Village of Penn Yan is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Deputy Clerk-Treasurer.
Handles Key Financial and Administrative Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
Compensation rate is $60,000 to $75,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience, and includes a highly competitive benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, or closely related field; AND one (1) year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional work experience involving personnel administration, benefit administration, payroll, and/or business office administration; and which shall have involved the use of a personal computer and common office software programs; OR
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; AND three (3) years of experience as described in (a) above.

Electric Line Worker
The Village of Penn Yan Municipal Electric Department is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of an experienced Electric Lineworker.
Primary Responsibilities:
Compensation rate is $46.85 to $51.69 hourly rate, dependent on years of experience. Penn Yan also offers a competitive benefits package.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; AND Graduation from an accredited Apprentice Lineworker program; AND eight thousand-three hundred-twenty (8,320) hours of on-the-job training on an electric distribution system. (Must possess Qualified Electric Person (QEP) and valid NYS Commercial
Driver’s License (CDL)). This is a competitive NYS Civil Service position that is full time, 40 hours per week and subject to Civil Service rules for eligibility.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Engaged in any type of construction, operation or maintenance on distribution lines and associated equipment.
- Apply safety rules and regulations as they apply to line substation and service work.
- Installs, inspect and repair poles, conductor, transformers, meters, hardware and other equipment on or near energized and de-energized lines in keeping with the appropriate specifications.
- Respond to outages to investigate, locate, analyze, correct faults and restore service on distribution equipment.
- Perform line switching, including switching at a transformer or automatic air-switch station.
- Reviews plans and specifications.
- Inform supervisors of equipment and materials required to complete jobs.
- Trains other crew members in construction of electrical distribution systems.
- Performs basic maintenance on equipment.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Seasonal Laborers
April - September $16-17/hour. Assist with maintaining our facilities by mowing, string trimming, cleaning park areas and watering flowers. A Valid driver's license is required. Flexible Schedule that includes weekends. Lifeguards June - Labor Day $16-17/hour. Ensure safety at our beaches, all lifeguards must have a valid Waterfront Lifeguarding Certification. Serving the Penn Yan community. Did you know that the Village of Penn Yan has five active boards that are dependent on volunteer members? Contributing to your community as a board member can be a meaningful experience. One where you can gain first-hand knowledge in government proceedings while assisting in important community decision-making. Four of the Village’s five boards typically meet once monthly or less.
